Wealden Language Services
In the course of my work as a private tutor, I have found that modern classroom practices often do not meet the needs of many language learners. Using more traditional methods, I have been able to help students to achieve higher grades and to acquire a more positive attitude to language learning in general.
While offering traditional, at-home tuition, ILT takes advantage of online video technology, using Skype to overcome geographical obstacles and to provide benefits otherwise unavailable to distance learners. This is of particular appeal to GCSE and A-Level students (and their parents), for whom shorter, more frequent lessons may be appropriate, and for whom travelling can be expensive and time-consuming.

Background & Experience
For the past three years I have taught privately. I took a BA Honours Degree in Modern Languages (French & Spanish) at Oriel College (Oxford University) in 1986, followed some time later by a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE) while teaching at Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School in Canterbury. I have lived and worked in France and Spain and have also taken the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation (DipTrans). Between my university degree and PGCE, I worked in publishing and agricultural sales.
